about
I wrote this song shortly after a horrible concussion that lasted 3 months, causing me to lose my memory, and ambition for my passions. I had to switch my major and temporarily dropped out of school. It seemed when I finally came to, I woke up to the lockdown. I still couldn't leave the house. While scrolling through Facebook the phrase of the year just kept ringing through my brain, "It's been so long since..." so I contrasted the darkness of the current time period with all of the simple things I missed right before: concerts, sports games, celebrations, being with family and friends, and sharing smiles with strangers. Due to its personal nature it took me a long time to confidently share this with the world and I'm happy to say through therapy, journaling, meditation, reaching out to others, and even buying my own tarot deck of all things, I have made it to a much happier place. My hope with this song is not to be a downer but instead to let anyone hurting know that they're not alone, that brighter times are ahead, and that even the darkest times will give way to amazing things to come.

Lyrics:
It’s been so long
Since you’ve been here with me
It’s been so long
But you’re still watching my story
I wanna go back
To what we used to be
Oh oh, oh oh, oh ohhh!
I don’t want to put on a happy face anymore!
Can we both just cry together
So I’ll know we can endure the weather?
I don’t want to put on a facade so you think I’m okay!
Can we both just try together
So we can feel better?
‘Cause it’s been so long
I’m so in love with you and you don’t even know it
I know you love me but we won’t show it
Even when our worlds are black and blue
I know there's still hope for me and you
Let’s kiss under the stars of the stage
Let’s dance on the bleachers at the game
It’s never too late
It's never too late
I don’t want to put on a happy face anymore
Can we both just cry together
So I’ll know we can endure the weather
I don’t want to put on a facade so you think I’m okay
Can we both just try together
So we can feel better
‘Cause it’s been so long
I don’t want to put on a happy face anymore
Can we both just cry together
So I’ll know we can endure the weather
I don’t want to put on a facade so you think I’m okay
Can we both just try together
So we can feel better
‘Cause it’s been so long
I’m so in love with you and you don’t even know it
I know you love me but we won’t show it
Even when our worlds are black and blue
I know there's still hope for me and you woah oh!
Let’s kiss under the stars of the stage
Let’s dance on the bleachers at the game
It’s never too late
Never too...
