Cup of Joe
05:16
|
|||
Intro:
I told myself no this ain't happenin'!
All this time! Oh, still can't get over him
Verse 1:
Then, someone helped heal
My wounds and fears
While I assisted him to resist
Neediness and injustice
Prechorus:
I moved in to where he worked,
As he moved on to where I learned,
But now that we've passed by,
Does a connection lie
Between our parallel lives?
Chorus:
Is love an ever-curing band-aid
Or a domesticated liger who stands tall
Or a movie that's funny but tear-stained
Or a caffeine high that never falls?
Well even as just a best friend,
You're my Cup of Joe.
Yes, it captured me by surprise
When one year's worth of bad love died!
Bridge:
They say "love knows no bounds,"
Is there a flaw in the law
When we're technically mutual rebounds?
Are we fenced in
Forever
By past love's sins
Will faith set us free
From our fears
Or will it never succeed?
Last chorus:
No,
True love...
Conclusion:
It sways
Like the ocean waves...
Oh don't you ever change
Don't add sugar coffee
Expresso, or cream
'Cause you are my Cup of Joe,
More real than my dreams...

Beast Within
05:06
|
|||
Verse 1:
Just before my heart was broken,
No logical words were spoken;
I had too many issues,
But not enough tissues.
Verse 2:
My personality was fake!
I made so many mistakes,
I lost all my self esteem,
By falling in a dream.
Chorus:
Yet, it is not worth having regret,
Because the past is long gone,
Although I try, I'll never forget,
How the beast in me made him run...
Oh, oh, woah oh oh woah oh oh oh...
Verse 3:
The instant I hit the ground,
Reality came crashing down,
My head was in the clouds,
But lust gave me no shrouds.
Verse 4:
Some part of me had died!
Said I loved him, but I lied;
Didn't know true love doesn't hurt.
So dumb of me to be a flirt!
(Back to chorus, then goes on to bridge)
Bridge:
Suddenly, I had lost my innocence,
But my guilt only serves as a fence;
I'm so tired of bein' afraid,
Of infatuation's-- sharp blade
I need to trust in myself and others again,
Now that I know how to make amends,
Although life is a trip, I'll take a stand
To show you that perfection is bland!
I won't have prejudgements,
I'm gaining confidence,
'Cause fears provoked taunts;
Finally, I'm moving on!
On......
Last chorus:
It is not worth having regret,
Because the past is long gone,
Although I try, I'll never forget
How the beast in him turned me on,
Closing Lines: (keep repeating until it changes)
So don't give in
To the beast within,
Just tame his greed,
Love is all we need

I Just Can't Decide
04:56
|
|||
Verse 1:
I have tried to close my heart;
They said I shouldn't even start
To think about you that way,
But you always brighten up my day!
Verse 2:
Why should I keep tryin' to defend?
The advice from some old, wise men
Has shaped me for so, so long,
But now I wonder, are they wrong?
Chorus:
I just can't decide...
Should I continue to hold the line?
Should I speak up and give him a sign?
Maybe I should give up on it all?
Maybe I should wait until next fall...
Ahh, ahh, ahh...
Verse 3:
We connect deeply through mind and emotion,
But they say "that of body would be a sin"
So now if that's what you implore,
I'm not the one you're lookin' for!
Verse 4:
I guess we are not much more than friends.
Then why are my feelings so intense?
I'm afraid this could all be in my head,
But I've no courage to say thoughts unsaid!
(Back to chorus)
Key change from Bb Major to C Major
Bridge:
How can such a good feeling be unjust?
They don't know this is true love, not lust!
They've said "they're the same" and "it's too early"
And that in theory, this should end poorly,
But do you believe in you and me?
Or do you just think that I'm crazy?
Oh I may be younger than your ideal,
I'm not perfect, but my love is real!
Don't worry, I won't invade your space;
No, I wont hurry to the next base.
I am glad you're not impulsive although,
I wish you would let your feelings show!
(Back to chorus with key change from C Major to D Major)
Closing:
It looks like fate chose to cross our stars,
But that does not mean it will cause scars!
I hope this love can be composed, not disposed
Of, but where we will end up, God only knows...

Learning How to Dive
04:38
|
|||
Verse 1:
I don't know if my mind is just playing a game
Or if it's a reflection of how my personality's changed,
But every time I look in the mirror
The view is almost never the same.
Pre-chorus:
It wasn't until
I communicated with my past
And watched the birds flying through the skies
That I finally and completely realized:
Chorus:
It's not so much about the destination;
What really matters is the trip you're takin'!
'Cause there's no fun in reading a book
That has nothing but a happy expiration
Ooh
Verse 2:
I don't care as much about the material things I receive
Because I've learned the best things in life are priceless and deep
Far below the surface of the sea
That is the vision are the most valuable treasures we can perceive
(Back to pre-chorus, then chorus)
Bridge:
Now that I've found my goal,
I have no way of knowing if the water's hot, warm, or cold
Unless I take a leap of faith and dive in...
So I can!
Share all!
These feelings within my soul!
Without being judged from the outside!
(Back to chorus)
Ooh ooh ooh ooh,
Ooh ooh ooh ooh!
Ooh ooh ooh ooh-ooh ooh,
Ooh ooh ooh-ooh ooh ooh.

Song for Jon

|

This song doesn’t need lyrics to inspire the listener to laugh or cry... it’s all in the music, itself. So, listen. :)

Heart of Gold
03:10
|
|||
Don't charm me
With "you'll never be alone"
'Cause I will
After you walk away
And that's okay!
Don't tell me
I "look better without makeup on"
'Cause I won't
After you keep me up all night
No one messes around with my style!
Please don't beware
Of me 'cause I got a heart of gold
I dare you to show you care
But only if you'll feel so bold
To dig me to be mine
I'll give it my all here
With or without you;
Go on and play along
But don't play me!
Don't be pleading
That you "can't live without" me
'Cause you can
And I'm not your therapist
I can live without a suicidal kiss!
Don't tell me
I’m your perfect baby
'Cause baby I am real
And I ain’t no baby anymore!
I make decisions on my own accord!
Please be aware
Of me 'cause I got a heart of gold
I know you can show you care
But let's not worry 'bout getting old
You might dig me deeper if you're mine
Will you give it your all here
With or without me?
I will play along
But I won't play you
If you do you
And I do me,
We might do each other
Eventually... ;)

Speechless
03:20
|
|||
A:
(Spoken) So I thought,
(Sung) "What fool
Are you
To try to make me feel as young as my youth?
Woah, no!
I won't turn speechless!
For a younger; quiet guy," but I said, "Hi"
A:
I sang
Too much
And used several signals to get back in touch
Like jingle, jangle!
I was speechless!
But you figured me out, anyway, hey?
B:
A psychic dream of you as James Bond replays in my mind;
Don't leave me in shadows like any girl!
And I promise I will be your partner in crime;
We'll face it all together
And change our worlds.
A:
I healed
So soon
And talked your ear off like a kid at the zoo!
Asked you to dance;
You turned speechless!
Then said you'd never go along, but I wrote this song
A:
'Cause then you stared
At me
And every move I made then you would copy;
You asked me to dance!
I turned speechless!
But it means more than words...
B:
It's not a simple reason why you drive me crazy:
Despite all the struggles I've been through
Or even because of the struggles, maybe,
The thing that keeps me sanest
These days is you.
C:
Yeah, yeah
Yeah!
Yeah yeah,
You- hoo- hooo ooh oooh,
A:
Although I've already found
My first gray hairs
You make me feel as young as my youth.

Sun vs. Rain
04:52
|
|||
These are not the lyrics, as there are none, but the poem I wrote originally, to base this melody off of:
The Tree, the Sun, and the Rain
Imagine a Tree.
This Tree is me.
Imagine the Sun.
This Sun is one.
Imagine the Rain.
This Rain is not the same,
But a boy other than the Sun.
The Sun is predictable
And hotly irresistible.
The Rain reigns from above
With protective love,
But leaves with guilt for the mud he made
More randomly than night and day.
Sun touches my petals, but Rain touches my leaves.
Sun allows me to play a little dirty;
Rain cleans out my worries for me.
Mad days, Sun leaves me high and dry;
Sad days, Rain drowns me in self-denies.
They both come and go, never staying for good;
If I should choose though, I don’t know if I could!
I want Sun to kiss me, but Rain to bliss me.
Imagine a weeping cherry Tree.
This flowering Tree is me.
Imagine the singing Sun.
This foolish Sun is one.
Imagine the dancing Rain.
This selfless Rain is not the same,
But a boy other than the Sun.
If only we could have rainy bliss-outs and sunny makeouts for all time
Without the rainbows turning green with envy or blue with cries
Maybe we could all grow so much more and be forever satisfied
But now, Rain tells me he’ll leave if I won’t let Sun petal towards my side
But I don’t think Rain does this because he loves me less; he loves me more
More than himself, and more than Sun loves himself, blinded from my amour
If Sun comes out from behind the cloud, will he see and honor my beauty?
Or will he be frightened by the thought of Rain falling for me?
If Sun ever does leave, will Rain still tend to my leaves?
Oh how I hope my desires are not cheaply wrong
Because the wind sways my petals to whistle a great song
In hope that “the Sun will come out, tomorrow”.
Yet, I wish my energy didn’t have to be borrowed
I want to be independent, but helpful to more growth than my own!
Imagine a cherry Tree.
This fruitful tree is me.
Imagine the Sun learning to dance.
This wiser Sun is one.
Imagine the Rain learning to sing.
This stronger Rain is not the same,
But a man other than The Sun.
